BUSHBURY HILL COMMUNITY ACTION GROUP

1. Tell us about your organisation?

Bushbury Hill Community Action Group was formed in 2012 and is run completely by volunteers. 

Our aim is to help, support and deliver rewarding projects that bring the tenants of the Bushbury Hill Estate Management Board together for the good of the local area.

2. Who do you help?

More than 2000 people who live on the Bushbury Hill Estate, although the work we do often touches thousands more. 

3. What services do you offer?

These are wide and varied, but all share the same common theme of bringing people together at key times of the year, including:

• Organising a Christmas lunch for older tenants, including putting on entertainment
• Arranging annual day trips at reduced rates for tenants
• Holding a Summer Fun Day to generate funding for the Estate Management Board
• Providing free school uniform for children
• Continuing to run our Bushbury Buddies befriending service to help ease loneliness

4. What makes WV10 special to you?

“When I moved here 20 years ago from London, I knew nobody and getting involved with the Estate Management Board proved to everyone that I wanted to make a real difference locally. They embraced this and my family, and together we have worked hard to help the community flourish. It’s a very special place to live.”
